Local knowledge, local presence
Bergen County is the most populous county in NJ — 955,000 people across 70 municipalities. We dispatch from our Hackensack hub on Main Street, covering everything from Fort Lee high-rises to Mahwah single-family homes. We know the difference between a Ridgewood Tudor and a Paramus split-level before the truck pulls up.
Issues we see weekly here
Bergen County's housing stock has its own quirks. After 17 years of working in these towns, we recognize problems before the homeowner has to explain them.
Multi-unit building issues
Fort Lee and Cliffside Park high-rises mean stacked plumbing risers, building-wide HVAC, and association coordination. We handle both unit-level and association calls.
AC sizing in 60s/70s splits
Original ductwork in Paramus and Fair Lawn splits is undersized for modern AC. We do Manual J load calcs before quoting.
Hard well water in northern Bergen
Mahwah, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River — wells with iron staining and high mineral content. We install softeners and run heater anode rods.
Storm-related sump pump failures
Bergen sees flash flooding in late summer. Battery-backup sump pumps are the difference between a dry basement and a $40k cleanup.
We had a sewer backup right before a family party. Rescue had a hydro-jet truck at the house in under an hour, fixed it on the spot, no upsell.

Real work, real Bergen towns
A snapshot of three recent Bergen County calls. Same crew, three different towns, three different problems — what we actually do, week in and week out, across the county.
Ridgewood — full HVAC system replacement
Homeowner near Van Neste Square running on a 22-year-old Lennox split system limping along on R-22 (which you can't legally recharge anymore — phased out in 2020). We did a full Manual J load calculation, sized down from the original 4-ton (oversized for the building's improved insulation) to a properly-sized 3-ton Rheem Prestige RA17 condenser paired with an R97V variable-speed gas furnace and matched evaporator coil. Two-day install: Tuesday for the condenser and lineset, Wednesday for the air handler and ductwork mods. Pulled the Ridgewood permit, scheduled and passed inspection within the week. Filed the NJ Clean Energy rebate paperwork — $1,200 back to the customer.
Englewood — A/C condenser replacement
Late-June call: failed compressor on a 15-year-old York condenser, hottest week of the summer. Customer needed a working system before her kids got home from camp. Same-day quote, next-morning install. We replaced the outdoor unit with a Rheem Prestige RA17 inverter condenser, kept the existing 6-year-old air handler (no reason to throw out a coil that's still in good shape), pulled the Englewood permit, system commissioned by 4 PM. SEER2 jumped from a degraded 13 rating to 17.5 — her July electric bill came in about $90 lower than the prior summer.
Elmwood Park — church steam boiler replacement
Elmwood Park church called us in November when their original 1962 cast-iron steam boiler in the basement gave up. Old unit: 350,000 BTU input, single-stage, atmospheric draft, mid-50s combustion efficiency. We installed a Weil-McLain SGO-7 oil-fired steam boiler — right-sized at 235,000 BTU after the radiator EDR survey showed the original was 40% oversized. Five-day project: tear-out, new mud-leg, near-boiler piping done correctly per Hartford-loop spec, new tankless coil for the fellowship hall sinks, Honeywell L4006A safety with high-limit cut-off. Worked closely with the Elmwood Park building department on the gas/oil-tank inspection. Church was warm for Christmas Eve service.
